Casanis, where New York efficiency meets Gallic charm, is run by chef Laurent Couvreur and his wife Jill. Welcoming, informal, relaxed and serving authentic southern French, rustic style cuisine,
it’s a breath of French air in quintessentially English Bath. Chef Laurent has worked with Michelin starred Master Chef Jacques Chibois in Cannes, at Chez Jacqueline in New York and the Ritz in London. His signature dishes are petits raviolis d’escargot with leek and chicken velouté  and cuisse de canard confite with fondant  potatoes, garlic spinach and lavender honey red wine jus. The fixed price lunch offers exceptional value, there are daily changing specials or one can dine a la carte. Casanis was voted runner up as Best New Bistro in Metro’s Food and Drink Awards 2007. Decorated with antiques sourced from ‘brocantes’ across Provence, Casanis provides an intimate dining space spanning two floors, plus a sheltered courtyard garden. Situated in a fine Georgian house adjacent to the Assembly Rooms and Fashion Museum on Saville Row, a pretty, peaceful pedestrian lane just off Alfred Street. The Circus, Royal Crescent,
Milsom Street and George Street are just a
five minute walk away.
