Regarded by many as the best pub food in the area. Chef Neil Creese, winner of the Gastro Pub Challenge at the Earls Court
Restaurant Show, stays to true to his ethos of ‘local food tastes better’. The truly seasonal menus boast dairy produce and free range eggs from Midway
Farm (2.5 miles) , organic beef from David Perkins (as seen from the car park), free range chicken
and guinea fowl from Woolley Park Farm at Bradford on Avon, lamb and pork is from Warleigh Lodge Farm. The seafood is delivered daily from
the Cornish coast. Everything except the bread, butter and cheese is made in
the kitchen. The expertly selected wine list is largely European, complemented
by some new world examples, many are available by the glass. The Inn has a reputation for the quality and choice of its real ale which includes Sharpes,
Berrow, Bath Ales, Palmers, Butcombe and Glastonbury Ales plus draught lagers. Somerset is renowned for its cider and there are three on draught from local makers, an
intruder from France called Breton plus a few interesting cider brandies and
Calvados for apple aficionados. This spacious but cosy Inn also offers 4 star
ensuite bed and breakfast.
