This is no average Indian, since opening in 1980, the Rajpoot has consistently won top national and regional awards including Les Routiers Restaurant of the Year, The Best in Britain and Winner of the British Curry Awards. Also voted Best in the South West and Top Ten in UK. Described by devotees as Britain’s ‘Aladdin’s Cave of Delights’ the Rajpoot surpasses all expectations. However, it is the food that has earned
the Rajpoot so much acclaim, not only is it subtle and succulent but often
unique; dishes such as the Jhal Noorpuri and Rezala are exclusive to the
Rajpoot and as can be expected are of the utmost excellence. The impressive menu includes Achari Golda Chingri (imported from Bangladesh) and
Chicken Jaflang (the owner's own recipe). The extensive wine list complements the food superbly. There are four dining areas India Cottage, Old
India, Kamra and Jonaki-which is further divided into five dining spaces:
Shimul, Chameli, Kameni, Shaon and Alap. The interior decoration, created by
craftsmen and artists from Bangladesh, is unparalleled. From the elegant bar
one can catch a glimpse through the archways of the dining areas, all of which exude an air of intimacy and privacy. With such attention to detail it is no suprise that the service is impeccable.
