The Garrick’s Head
7/8 St Johns Place, Sawclose, Bath BA1 1ET.
01225 318368.
Open 7 days. Food served Monday to Saturday lunch and dinner. Sunday lunch.

Next door to the Theatre Royal in central Bath The Garrick’s Head is a city pub with a reputation for serving truly seasonal food prepared using the best local organic and free range produce available. Beef, pork, lamb and poultry comes from nearby farms and flocks, supplied by the farmers that actually rear the animals. The fish is delivered daily from the Cornish coast. Regular devotees say that the Garrick’s serves the best fish and chips in Bath! Everything except the bread, butter and cheese is made in the kitchen. Perfect for pre or post theatre dining and even drinks in the interval. The bar is filled with a mixture of locals, theatre goers and the odd actor but the two resident ghosts have yet to put in an appearance. There is a fantastic wine list served by the bottle or glass, at least  three real ales, five draught Somerset ciders, great coffee and an outdoor terrace where one can sit and watch the world go by. www.garricksheadpub.com  www.bathsbest.com
