The Star Inn is a must visit - and one of Bath’s best kept secrets. Its main claim to fame is
the fine Bass and Bellringer ale served from barrels on the bar counter. One of the city’s
oldest pubs, first licensed in 1760, now the brewery tap of Abbey Ales, Bath’s only brewery.  Set amongst the splendour of Bath's Georgian architecture, a few minutes walk from Milsom Street, The Star Inn provides a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of the centre.
The interior retains many of its original
features including the 19th century bar fittings
by Gaskell and Chambers  and the numbered rooms, compulsory when Licensing Laws
required it. One of only two Bath pubs to
make the main listings in the Good Pub Guide.
No machines, no music, no pool table or television, chat's the thing here -
perhaps cribbage, dominoes or a game of
 shove halfpenny. Freshly made rolls
are always available.
